Bicycle street racing, known as "Alleycat" racing among the bicycle messengers who pioneered the sport in the 1980's and 90's and who have since dominated it, challenges the skills and courage of even the most talented of professional cyclists. The most intense races are designed to challenge a few core skills such as the ability to mentally map and navigate city streets, maneuver quickly through traffic, and dare to prove that a bicycle is faster than a car in city traffic. Alleycats have evolved from the unique challenges of working as a bicycle messenger in the complex urban environments of cities like New York City, London, Berlin and San Francisco. Although there are many types of alleycat races, all races combine elements all out racing, scavenger hunts, orienteering, and partying. Recently specialized races have featured sprints, endurance racing, hill climbing, teamwork and velodrome racing. 5Boro Generals focuses on each of these skills framed against the unique features of all five boroughs in New York City.

Year to year favorite Rumble thru the Bronx returns for its fourth edition on Saturday, June 16, 2007. From Yankee Stadium to Orchard Beach, this exciting 25 mile ride across the Bronx is guerrilla street riding at its finest! 

This year Rumble kicks off an all-city alleycat tour of the five Boroughs - the keepin'-it-real "5 Borough Bike Tour" - the 5BoroGenerals Series! Racers must complete all five races for the honor of being a 5BoroGeneral. Racers will be awarded points based on finish in each individual race/mission. At the end of the series, the racer with the greatest point total for completing all five missions will receive HONOR GLORY AND FIVE STARS. The Stage Winners (Men's Women's and Out of Town) for each mission will be awarded SUPER BLING GOLD mission-specific jerseys by Champion System. All participants will be able to register online, buy custom jerseys and view original content including the always popular alleycat videos throughout the series, as well as check updated race series stats!
